have written poetry for as long as I can remember. I think the inspiration probably came from sitting in the bath with my dad reading Shakespeare’s sonnets as a baby.

For me poetry is the expression of things that cannot, or are hard to, express. We each live life in our own way and this fascinates me and is something I try to capture in my poetry. Rhythm, repetition and (to the group’s distaste!) unusual line endings feature quite frequently in my work; I want to challenge the reader to re-examine the words, the meaning and find their own viewpoint through my poetry.
